The reordering of St. Michael's
THANK YOU to everyone who has given their time, money and energy to the fundraising programme raising money towards the first phase of our reordering project. This work is now complete and as anyone who has been in the building knows, the new layout is proving a great success.
For your information - How does St. Michael's fund itself?
The daily costs of the church (salaries, running costs etc) are covered by ongoing donations from the congregation. Specific projects, including building work such as the reordering project we have recently completed are covered by one-off fundraising campaigns.
The Crypt Refurbishment
In 2010 we will be running a series of fundraising events to help with the refurbishment of the Crypt. This part of St Michaels is used by many voluntary and support groups including Narcotics Anonymous, Families of Friday, Friday Fellowship, Genesis Lunchbox, Children's Hospice SW, and of course Focus Counselling.
Regular Giving
The cafe and venue hire 'businesses' in the church are self supporting and enable us to 'tithe' a set amount of money each month to our chosen charities. We also use the surplus from these businesses to further the mission of the church within the City of Bath. This year we intend to introduce several new ventures including Baby Church, and Cafe Prayer Circles during the Spring of 2010.
