THANK YOU to everyone who has given their time, money and energy to the fundraising programme raising money towards the first phase of our reordering project. This work is now complete and as anyone who has been in the building knows, the new layout is proving a great success.
Phase Two of the reordering project - the new lift
The next work in the church will involve putting a lift up the stairs to the mezzanine and improving the sound system. We will be launching the new fundraising campaign with a lecture and booklaunch by John Wroughton at St. Michael's on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 at 7.00pm.
For your information - How does St. Michael's fund itself?
The daily costs of the church (salaries, running costs etc) are covered by ongoing donations from the congregation. Specific projects, including building work such as the reordering project we have recently completed are covered by one-off fundraising campaigns.
The cafe and venue hire 'businesses' in the church are self supporting and designed to produce a monthly income which we give away to charities.
