Using powerful imagery, electronic music, live performance, film and installation, Rapunzel will never be the same again. Not suitable for children.

Marina Warner is a prize-winning author of fiction, criticism and history; her many books include From the Beast to the Blonde, Joan of Arc and her study of the Virgin Mary, Alone of all her Sex. Here she speaks about the power of fairytales, and her collaboration with this year's On the Edge of Life.
A new short story The Difference in the Dose, from the cultural historian Marina Warner, a brilliant updating of Rapunzel's story, which has been used as the inspiration for a brand new multimedia performance created specially for this year's Festival.
Using powerful imagery, electronic music, live performance, film and installation, Rapunzel will never be the same again. Not suitable for children.
Leading military historian, Antony Beevor, is the foremost authority on the great battles of WWII and in D-Day: The Battle for Normandy has created a stunning companion to his highly acclaimed books on the battles for Crete, Stalingrad and Berlin. Combining the grand strategic perspective with vivid recreations of the view from the ordinary soldier's fox-hole, the book offers insight born from years of scholarship, within a consistently gripping narrative. This will surely be the most celebrated non-fiction book of the season and a real treat to which we all look forward!
