St Michael's Without (so called because it was the first church building to be built outside the city wall) has been a site of Christian worship for around nine hundred years. We continue to share the historic faith that it is when we become followers of Jesus that our lives are made whole.

Worship for us is about the primacy of Jesus in all aspects of life and we try to reflect this by being a "seven days a week" church. We are set in the middle of a thriving commercial environment and believe that worship has a unique role to play in such a context.

Worship takes place throughout the week in church and also in people's homes across the city.

In the beginning of 2010 our sermons and housegroups will continue to focus on the book of Acts. Housegroups have the opportunity of studying a particular section of Acts before a sermon is preached on the same passge, We have found this a really helpful way of approaching our bible study.

The book of Acts is full of the energy and excitement of the early Christians as they found God doing new things all over the place and learned to take the good news of Jesus around the world. There isn't a dull page in Acts. But, equally importantly, the whole book reminds us that whatever 'journey' we are making in our own lives, our spirituality, our following of Jesus, and our work for his kingdom, his spirit will guide us too, and make us fruitful in his service.
