Palm Sunday

Join us on 2nd April at our Cafe Church service to hear the story of Jesus’ triumphant entry to Jerusalem, as told by our children and young people who will be ‘broadcasting live’ from London and Jerusalem!

With worship led by our wonderful worship team.

Come from 10.15 for coffee and pastries!

The 9.30 Holy communion will take place as usual…

A massive thank you!

We are so grateful to everyone who took part, bought tickets, donated and helped organise, in any way, our TearfundRaiser which took place last Friday.

The event was the brain-child of Olivia, part of our Church Family so a huge well done to her for all her hard work and for being brave enough to step outside her comfort zone and do something she had never done before!

Olivia set a target of £2000 to raise and just prior to the event it was decided that rather than going to Tearfund’s general fundraising, we would donate specifically to their appeal for those in Syria, affected by the earthquake. Their partner church in Syria sprang into action immediately after the quake and has been sheltering those made homeless as well as providing everything they can in terms of clothing, food, etc.

Amazingly we smashed the target and so far, campaign page is still open for one more day….we have raised well over £2700. We hope this makes a small difference to people who have experienced such disaster on top of already living in a country in crisis.

Make a Donation

January might be over but it still feels as though Spring is far away. What can beat those winter blues? How about a great night showcasing some local talent for you to enjoy while also knowing you’re helping to tackle poverty across the world?

We have gathered a selection of local musicians, dancers and artists, who are giving their time to perform for you in aid of Tearfund, one of St. Mike’s Mission Partners. There will be a licensed bar serving wine, beers, coffee, hot chocolate and other soft drinks, as well as snacks.

Tickets are only £10, available from St. Mike’s Cafe, or online via Eventbrite (booking fee applies)

If you would like to know more about Tearfund and their work, check out their website.

Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation - whether you come to the event or not - you can do so HERE. All donations made online will go only to Tearfund (excluding any processing fee our fundraising platform may charge). Please Gift Aid your donation if you are able!

This year our Harvest Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday 25th September at 10.45am. Join us for a joyous, interactive and worshipful time as we welcome this season and give thanks for all that God has given us. Coffee served from 10.15am.

We are also delighted to say that, after a few years absence due to covid, Harvest Supper is back! Monday 26th September from 6.30pm. It is an opportunity to gather as family, share a simple meal, give thanks and we usually sneak in a worship song or two! There will be a suggested donation and if you can bring a pudding to share then do! Feel free to invite neighbours, friends, or that random stranger you find on the street! But do let us know who is coming…
RSVP to Lisa via office@stmichaelsbath.org.uk or 01225 447103.

From this Sunday and right through the holiday season our sermons will be looking at the Bible stories some of us will have first heard as children, and the lessons we took from them. What impact did they have on us then and now, and does the story as we remember it bear much resemblance to the biblical text? For example, was Goliath REALLY a giant, or even particularly tall? If not, does that change the meaning and the lesson we can take from the text.

New range of Christian cards

If you have visited us before you will surely have seen the wide selection of greetings cards and prints available by Ben and Hannah Dunnett. They have a huge variety of designs incorporating scripture and hymns/worship songs that are appropriate for almost any occasion.

We are now also stocking cards from a local distributor called Forget-Me-Not, run by two Christian women. If you’re looking for more simple designs or something specific for a child’s birthday, a wedding anniversary, a baptism or a bereavement then you’ll find it! Each card has a Christian message inside.

You can see the full range on their website HERE.

It's the APCM! Read our Annual Report...

It’s that time of year again when we gather to look back over the past 12 months, think about our vision for our church and city, and celebrate the good things!

In case you don’t know, APCM stands for Annual Parochial Church Meeting - the church equivalent of an AGM. As well as looking at our financial situation we have Church Wardens to elect and new people standing for places on the PCC - much to be grateful for!

All are welcome - though only people on the Electoral Roll may vote - this Thursday, 26th May at 7.00pm in the church.

We look forward to seeing you and in the meantime you can read and download the annual report and accounts HERE.

New Sermon Series

A new sermon series for Spring started this week - 8th May - and will run until just after Pentecost.

Called ‘Difference’, it is based on the Difference course created the Reconciliation Leaders Network, established by Archbishop Justin Welby as part of his Reconciliation Ministry.

The overall thread is acknowledging that we live in a divided and fractured world and it can be hard to know where to start with some issues. Looking at the way God may work in our relationships and disagreements to bring about transformation will equip us to bring about this transformation in our everyday encounters.

You can read more about the RLN and the Difference course HERE.

This year our Good Friday service will include the music of Adrian Snell, member of our church family and composer/singer.

Titled, ‘Gethsemane to Golgotha’ we will follow the journey Jesus took on Good Friday, in a reflective, meditative service, accompanied by Adrian’s music, inspired by the three days that changed the world.

All are very welcome to join us, whether you’ve been to St. Mike’s before or not!

We have a small request that you enter the space quietly and without talking, if possible. Many thanks!
