St Michael’s Without

…from the edge to the heart of the city.

In following Jesus who is the Way, prayer is at the centre, because that is what he taught us to do. In responding to His call on our lives, we in turn are part of the ongoing work to encourage others to follow too. We seek to share the love of God and for our building to be open for all who may come in, for us to reach out in practical work to make a difference in people lives and for the good of the city. We are not a perfect community, we don’t always get things right, we experience struggles in life, but in all that, we still seek to follow Jesus faithfully because we know no better way.

Having completed a process of discernment and discussion we now have a set of key priority areas through which we intend to translate ‘following Jesus who is the Way’ in practical terms. These areas reflect our core values as the body of Christ and guide us in decision making in terms of time, commitment and finances, both collectively and individually. We like this reminder not to limit ourselves:

‘God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us’ Ephesians 3:20-21.
