EVANGELISM

We want to share the good news about Jesus and encourage others to follow Him. We want to encourage each other and build confidence to share our faith. How do we offer regular opportunities where people can explore faith?

Being intentional: We want to provide regular opportunities for people to hear and explore more about the Christian faith. Continued use of Alpha or other such material on a regular basis will be important and we are open to plan evangelistic services and invite occasional evangelists to speak.

Reaching out into the community, particularly around the Kingsmead & Walcot Street areas, we want to explore ways that we can do outreach and engage in a meaningful way with the local community.

Building confidence: The most effective way of engaging with evangelism is through relationships with people and to that end we want to encourage and deliberately form positive relationships with local groups and organisations in the community. We want to encourage church members to share their stories of how they came to faith in Jesus, to listen to testimonies in church services, encourage evangelism as a way we live and work hard at the welcome we give as a church together. We want to encourage training in apologetics and to think creatively how we could do some big question talks. We want to link into Diocesan resources and training following the lead of our Bishops for mission and evangelism to be at the heart of everything we do.
