In case you missed it...

Whether you couldn’t attend, or just were a bit overwhelmed with information from the People’s Emergency Briefing last week we, along with the team at Bath and West Community Energy have collated some of the action points.  Scroll on to find out how we can all make a difference…

Chris Packham brings the film to a close saying "Over to you" - so how can and will we respond? We’ve compiled a list of suggestions to give some ideas, and believe that any actions are better than anxiety and inactivity.

  • Chose how you spend and invest your money - this is huge, as pensions, mortgages and savings with ethical providers (moving away from unethical finance) is easier than we might think to do and will have a big impact.

  • Hold your own screening of this film with your workplace, local community or groups - see how HERE .

  • Put climate back on the agenda to talk about with your friends, family, neighbours and networks

  • Lobby your MP - and petition the Government for a Uk wide TV screening of the film: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/767687#main-content

  • Join a local community organisation who are committed to taking action together

  • Consider energy saving measures for your home such as solar, heat pumps and improved insulation

  • Invest in Community Energy projects (renewables)

  • Use your voice on social media to share the good news stories, it all counts

  • Repair, share and buy second hand where you can

  • Consider food waste and cutting down on meat and dairy consumption

  • Take public transport where you can and be conscious how you holiday - could a short flight be replaced by a train journey?

  • Chose a more ethical search engine for your browsing and limit the use of AI where possible (this uses much more water than internet searches).
