This month we are marking ‘Plastic Free July’
Plastic Free July™ is a shared global movement that helps millions of people reduce plastic waste through simple, everyday choices and be part of the solution to plastic pollution. That way, we can enjoy cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.
There are many actions and choices we can make ourselves, but there is also a call to actively refuse single-use plastics from supermarkets, other shops, restaurants etc. and ask for better alternatives.
Resources are available on the campaign website for your home, school, workplace and local community.
We will also be sharing ideas in our weekly emails and on the screens in the church/cafe.
Our Cafe is actively participating having now eliminated all plastic packaging on our pre-packed soft drinks. These now only come in recyclable cans, cardboard or glass.
We are currently seeking alternatives for our takeaway coffee lids and cold drink takeaway cups - but for this month if you bring your own reusable cup you can get 20% off your takeaway drink!
If you have any ideas you would like to share, or to tell us what changes you are pledging to make please email office@stmichaelsbath.org.uk, we’d love to share the good news!
